Melissa's hand is touching a round stone inside the lion's mouth. There is no way to get it out. It was carved already inside.

Melissa, What a special trip this must be for you, too! We love all the photographs of the family but the one with you and the lion is especially wonderful! Why is there a stone in the lion's mouth?
